AMD beats INTEL in power efficiency

Neal Nelson & Associates, an independent computer performance consulting firm has reported that AMD opteron based servers are more power efficient than equally configured Intel Xeon-based server. The tests also revealed that Intel’s power efficiency advantages decrease as memory size increases while AMD’s power efficiency advantages increase as memory size increases.
