One percent US population in jail

A report by the Pew Center on the States’ Public Safety Performance Project, states that one in every 99.1 men and women in US are held in American prisons or jails. This is the highest incarceration rate of any country in the world. Some specifics from the report
- One in 30 men between the ages of 20 and 34 is behind bar.
- One in every 53 adults in their 20s is behind bars.
- Men are 13 times more likely to be incarcerated.
