According to market research firm comScore YouTube accounted for over three billion of the over nine billion videos viewed in January 2008. More than 139 million U.S. Internet users spent an average of 206 minutes per person viewing online video in January.
‘Shanghai’,Movie production leave China
After Chinese authorities objected to the script, producers of the American movie Shanghai have pulled the project out of China. $3 million US had been spent already by The Weinstein Company to build sets in China. The movie will relocate shooting to Thailand and Britain. The movie is about an American who investigates his friend’s death in the Second World War-era, Japanese-occupied Shanghai.

The Subaru R1e is a small two-seater city Electric car (50 miles range, 65 mph top speed). Subaru will test the vehicle in New York City this summer. Tar Sands - Most destructive
A report by Environmental Defence calling the Alberta Oil Sands, the most destructive project on Earth. Some facts:
- Oil sands mining is licensed to use twice the amount of fresh water that the entire city of Calgary uses in a year.
- At least 90% of the fresh water used in the oil sands ends up intailing ponds.
- Processing the oil sands uses enough natural gas in a day to heat 3 million homes.
- The toxic tailing ponds are considered one of the largest human-made structures in the world. The ponds can be seen from space.
- Producing a barrel of oil from the oil sands produces three times more greenhouse gas emissions than a barrel of conventional oil.
India rejects OpenXML
Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has rejected MicroSoft’s Open XML file format as a standard. BIS is a founder member of ISO, and represents India at the ISO. Microsoft received a positive nod from Wipro, TCS, Nasscom and Infosys

Transcendental Meditation is an effective treatment for controlling high blood pressure, according to a new research conducted at the University of Kentucky. The practice of Transcendental Meditation was associated with approximate reductions of 4.7 mm systolic blood pressure and 3.2 mm diastolic blood pressure.
Web site of Dutch anti-Islam film is suspended
US hosting Network Solutions is investigating whether the controversial anti-Islam film by Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders breaches their terms of service. Geert Wilders said he would release the film, which attacks Islam and the Koran holy book, on the Internet by April 1 after television stations refused to air it. Even before its released the film has drawn complaints from several Muslim countries. Dutch film-maker and polemicist Theo Van Gogh was murdered by an Islamic extremist in Amsterdam in 2004 after he made a short film attacking Islam’s treatment of women.

A MAN has been crucified for the 22nd time
The re-enactment of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ is part of a annual spectacle, in this northern Philippines village of San Pedro Cutud. The 47-year-old Ruben Enaje was the first of 19 men who underwent the bloody Easter crucifixion ritual. 18-centimeter metal nails were driven into his both palms and feet while lying spread-eagled over the cross. “It is painful and difficult. But I will continue doing this for as long as I can,” the father-of-four said.

I Am Legend DVD with alternate ending.

There is a new version of Will Smith’s sci-fi thriller I Am Legend available on DVD this week. The thriller was adapted from Richard Matheson’s story of the same name. The new DVD is offered with an alternate ending. Both the theatrical and the alt versions of I Am Legend are available on the two-disc, widescreen DVD set. In the alternate version, the film has been extended by 3 minutes 25 seconds.
HIV vaccine could be possible
Researchers from the University of Montreal, McGill University Health Centre and BD BioSciences of San Diego have made a breakthrough discovery in the fight against HIV infection. The research found that the protein FOX03a not only can limit the deterioration of certain disease-fighting immune cells, but could help with the development of an HIV vaccine. HIV is characterized by the deterioration of T-cells.

An explsion older than earth still visible
Gamma ray bursts occur when huge stars use up all their fuel and their core collapses, forming black holes or neutron stars. A brightest cosmic explosion has been detected by NASA 7.5 billion light years away. That means it occurred before Earth was formed. The explosion was seen last Wednesday without any visual aid.
