Tips On How To Get a Good Night’s Sleep

SleepExperts recommend that adults should get 7- 8hrs of sleep each night.  According to The American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM):

  1. Follow a consistent bedtime routine.
  2. Establish a relaxing setting at bedtime.
  3. Get a full night’s sleep every night.
  4. Avoid foods or drinks that contain caffeine.
  5. You shouldn’t bring worries to bed.
  6. You shouldn’t go to bed hungry, but shouldn’t eat a big meal before bedtime either.
  7. Avoid any rigorous exercise within six hours of your bedtime.
  8. Make your bedroom quiet, dark and a little bit cool.
  9. Get up at the same time every morning.
