Research done by the National Institutes of Health suggests that the pregnant women with higher blood sugar levels, but not high enough to be considered diabetes, are more likely to give birth to babies at high risks. These mothers have more likelihood for Caesarean delivery and babies with abnormally large body size. Infants are at risk for shoulder dystocia ( Shoulder becomes lodged inside the mother’s body) and halt the birth process.
