mealA circadian rhythm is a roughly-24-hour cycle in the biochemical, physiological or behavioral processes of living beings. In humans circadian rhythm is controlled by the hypothalamus, especially suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN). Researchers who study mice found that they could shift the animals’ circadian rhythm or body clock by controlling the mealtime or the food availability. This means that changing patterns of mealtimes might help us adjust our body clock. This will help us to cope with jet lag or get used to shift working.
