Dismantle Civilisation -The only solution is a change of culture.

Dismantle civilizationBloggers at the endgames believes that the natural world is under attack. Our global economy & corporate capitalist system is destroying the planetary eco system at a pace that few of us can comprehend. Old growth forests are all but gone.
This blog hopes to pull together many diverging strands of information, to illustrate that the problem lies not with any one simple factor, but with the whole culture that we call civilization. The way we have been raised to view humans as superior and separate to nature, and hence how we behave in relation to our surroundings is ultimately the problem.

Research May Extend Moore’s Law

microchip.pngMoore’s law describes an important trend in the history of computer hardware. Since the invention of the integrated circuit in 1958, the number of transistors that can be placed inexpensively on an integrated circuit has increased exponentially, doubling approximately every two years. But some observers have predicted that law cannot be sustained indefinitely. The McGill scientists , though, think they may have a way around those roadblocks. The research conducted by the McGill scientists may be the answer to continuing Moore’s Law .

Astrophysicist Stephen Hawking Retires

Stephen HawkingStephen William Hawking is a British theoretical physicist who became a scientific celebrity through his theories on black holes and the nature of time. Hawking is the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics, a title once held by the great 18th century physicist Isaac Newton. The university said Friday that he would step down at the end of the academic year in September, but would continue working as Emeritus Lucasian Professor of Mathematics. Hawking was quoted before a zero flight saying:
“Many people have asked me why I am taking this flight. I am doing it for many reasons. First of all, I believe that life on Earth is at an ever increasing risk of being wiped out by a disaster such as sudden nuclear war, a genetically engineered virus, or other dangers. I think the human race has no future if it doesn’t go into space. I therefore want to encourage public interest in space.”
His science bestseller A Brief History of Time, stayed on the British Sunday Times bestseller list for a record-breaking 237 weeks.

Out-of-body experience To be Researched

Life SymbolOut-of-body experience has been reported in several incidents by people who cheat death at the last moment.  Around 10 to 20 per cent of people whose heart stops after a cardiac arrest report some near-death experiences. But its never been scientifically proved whether they are real or just a trick of the mind. Scientists in UK are to examine the near-death experiences of 1,500 hospital patients to find out the truth. The research will be carried out for the next three years. Pictures will be placed on shelves high up in hospital rooms so that they can be seen only from above. If any patients recall the images, it would be the first hard proof that out-of-body experiences are real.
