Research May Extend Moore’s Law
Moore’s law describes an important trend in the history of computer hardware. Since the invention of the integrated circuit in 1958, the number of transistors that can be placed inexpensively on an integrated circuit has increased exponentially, doubling approximately every two years. But some observers have predicted that law cannot be sustained indefinitely. The McGill scientists , though, think they may have a way around those roadblocks. The research conducted by the McGill scientists may be the answer to continuing Moore’s Law .
