Twitter hit by phishing
Some Twitter users were lured into giving away their passwords in a phishing attack. If you receive an email notification that takes you to any site similar to Twitter look at the URL carefully before login. Phishing is the criminally fraudulent process of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users’ updates (otherwise known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length.
