7 millions Brits have math skills below the level of a 11 yr-old
Almost seven million adults in Britain have maths skills below the level of the average 11-year-old, a studyfound. A Government-backed survey suggests that 6.8million adults in England lack the skills expected of children at the end of primary school. The cost of innumeracy to the country has been estimated at £2.4billion a year because those who leave school having failed to master basic maths are more likely to end up jobless.
