Mystery of Disarticulated Donkey
In Florida, during a construction the skeleton of a 17th-century donkey uncovered, all four of its legs had been dis articulated skillfully at the joints. The four limbs placed in the grave with the torso; torso and limbs arranged in a north-south direction. Historical documents suggest Indians provided the labor to mine coquina and transport it to the site of the Castillo. If you have answer to any of the following questions, email archaeology.org.

Humans nearly went extinct 70,000 years ago
Evidence found in DNA suggests that humans came close to extinction roughly 70 000 years ago. The human population at that time may have shrunk as low as 2,000. The human population at that time was reduced to small isolated groups in Africa. Today, more than 6.6 billion people inhabit the globe.

Hear Neanderthal Speaking
Researchers have modeled the hominids’ larynx to replicate the possible sounds they would have made. The work, is based on Neanderthal fossils found in France. Neanderthals are our closest extinct ancestors and lived in parts of Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East for around 170,000 years, then died out some 28,000 years.
Da Vinci a Slave’s son?
According to compelling new evidence unveiled in Florence, Italy, Leonardo Da Vinci, regarded by many as the greatest genius of the Renaissance, was the son of a humble slave girl and had at least 21 half-siblings. It was common in Renaissance Florence to own slaves from the Middle East and the Balkans. At the time of Leonardo’s birth there were more than 550 slaves in Florence.

Aztec used more advanced math
The Aztec Empire of 1519 was the most powerful Mesoamerican kingdom of all time, which stretched for more than 80,000 square miles through many parts of what is now central and southern Mexico. The civilization has long been recognized for its sophistication in architecture, engineering and astronomy. A recent research revealed the ancient Aztecs maintained an arithmetic system that was far more complex than previously understood.
Native american DNA links to 6 founding mothers
A new study revealed that 95 percent of native people throughout the Americas can trace part of their ancestry to just six women. The “founding mothers” are believed to have lived between 18,000 and 21,000 years ago.
Oldest Banquet hall found
A 5 500 years monument which is believed to be an ancient ceremonial plaza discovered in the norht-central coast of Peru. The discovery is further evidence that civilization thrived in Peru at the same time as did it in what is now the Middle East and South Asia. The monument is discovered in Sechin Bajo, in Casma, 370 kilometres north of Lima, Peru’s capital.
Oldest Oill painting discovered
A team of Japanese, European and U.S. scientists found the oldest known oil painting, dating from 650 A.D. The discovery was made in Afghanistan’s Bamiyan Valley. Bamiyan valley is famous for its 1,500-year-old massive Buddha statues which were destroyed by Taliban in 2001. The discovery reverses a common perception that the oil painting, originated in Europe.
Ancient Biological Weapons
Biological warfare was used as early as 1300 B.C. Infected rams and donkeys were the bioweapons used then. According to a review published in the Journal of Medical Hypotheses, two ancient populations, the Arzawans and the Hittites, engaged “in mutual use of contaminated animals” during the 1320-1318 B.C. Anatolian war.
Woman behind Mona Lisa
German academics at Heidelberg University announced recently that the woman behind Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” painting is undoubtedly Lisa Gherardini del Giocondo. The evidence came from notes written in October 1503 in the margin of a book by Florentine city official Agostino Vespucci, an acquaintance of Leonardo da Vinci.
Language splits fast
Research has revealed that when a new language emerges from an old one its vocabulary changes dramatically in a short period of time. Researchers believe that 10 to 33 percent of divergence between languages arise from key vocabulary changes during the time of splitting. Sudden emergence of American English during 1800s and the distinct black american english can be looked as the proof of the finding.
