Antichips : Fighting Chip implant

The AntiChips is a campaign against chip implants in human body. The campaign is a project of CASPIAN, Consumers Against Supermarket Privacy Invasion and Numbering. According to their website :

“Researchers have discovered a causal link between implanted radio-frequency (RFID) microchip transponders and fast-growing, malignant tumors in laboratory rodents and dogs. Our study examines the research and corrects industry misstatements and misinformation circulating about the studies.”

Will Obama be safe?

As Barack Obama moves closer and closer to becoming America’s first black president worries about his safety increases among black Americans. There is, no sure answer whether he is at risk or not. But his supporters who see him as an inspiring, youthful advocate of change in the mold of Robert F. Kennedy, and they are mindful of Kennedy’s assassination just two months after King’s.

YouTube banned in Pakistan.

Pakistan has blocked access to the popular YouTube website because of content deemed offensive to Islam. Danish cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad which outraged many is featured in Youtube. The website would remain blocked till further orders. Other countries that have temporarily blocked access to YouTube include Turkey and Thailand. Thailand lifted the band later after the video which insulting King had been removed from the site.

Birth of world’s newest state : Kosova

Kosova has become world’s newest state as it declared independence from Serbia today. The independence of Kosova was opposed by Serbia as invalid and illegal. Russia has blocked Kosova’s approval at the UN Security Council. Thousands of people gathered in Kosovo’s capital Pristina to celebrate the independence.

No Boeing 757 hit the Pentagon

The new society, an international organization of pilots and aviation professionals say that no Boeing 757 hit the Pentagon on 9/11 according to the study of the black box data provided by the government. The report issued by the pilots says that there are major differences between the official account and the flight data. The organization says that the evidence for their report is beyond clear and compelling.

Armed force recruiters asked to leave by City of Berkeley

The City Council has voted to tell the Marines their downtown recruiting station is not welcome and “if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome guests.”. Lawmakers in Washington fired back this week, threatening to take back more than $2 million of federal funding to the city.

One of the sign protesters hold reads: “Join the Marines. Travel to Exotic Lands. Meet Exciting and Unusual People — And Kill Them”

Iran launches rocket.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad read out the launch countdown before the rocket blasted off. The rocket which is designed to carry a locally-made satellite was launched on Feb 4th. Iran has been accused by western nations of building nuclear weapons. Iran insists its nuclear programme is designed only to generate electricity.
