Cattle Have Sense Of Direction

CowGoogle Earth satellite images helped researchers, and revealed that cattle tend to face north-south direction while grazing or resting. Other field observations of red and roe deer also revealed this. Both cattle and deer faced a more magnetic north-south direction rather than geographic north-south.

Other animals such as birds, turtles and salmon migrate using a sense of magnetic direction. Small mammals such as rodents and bats also have inner magnetic compass.

Cat’s Urine And Machoism In Rats

RatResearcher had  expected that the smell of a cat would reduce the sexual drive in rats and the scared mice aren’t sexy mice. But now they have found that cats could help mice get lucky in love.

According to a new study cat’s urine not only scare mice away, but it also seems to act like an aphrodisiac (agent that arouses sexual desire) for the rats. The smell make male mice more macho and attract females.

Tuatara The tuatara which is found only in New Zealand is the fastest evolving animals in the planet. It is the only surviving member of a reptilian order Sphehodontia that lived alongside early dinosaurs. Tuatara means peak on the back in Maori language. Maori is one of the official languags of New Zealand.
