Photos for the Blind
A Chinese designer has designed a new Camera for visually impaired people. The camera named “Touch Sight” has has a lightweight, flexible Braille display sheet which displays a 3D image by embossing the surface, allowing the user to touch their photo. In addition to the Braille display sheet “Touch Sight” includs a unique feature which records sound for three seconds after pressing the shutter button. When taking photographs it should be held against the forehead like a third eye. Its proved that its the optimal position to capture the image.
3D Camera with 12,616 lenses
The new 3D camera being developed by Stanford electronics will capable of taking photographs with electronically stored depth map of the picture. That is, a photograph of a person’s face would, include the precise distances to the subject’s eyes, nose, ears, chin, etc. One obvious potential use of the technology: facial recognition for security purposes. The technology behind the camera is called “multi-aperture image sensor” which is made by shrunk the pixels on the sensor several times smaller than pixels in standard digital cameras and grouping the pixels in arrays of 256 pixels each, and placing tiny lens atop each array.

Camera that sees through clothes
The new technology, known as the T5000 system developed by ThruVision can see through people’s clothing at distances of up to 80ft. The new system has attracted interest from law enforcement agencies in the hope of detecting weapons, drugs and explosives. The system works by detecting and measuring terahertz waves, or T-waves- an electromagnetic radiation, emitted by all people and objects that lie between the infrared and microwave parts of the spectrum.
