Unlimited Music Service by Sony Ericsson
Sony Ericsson today announced the launch of PlayNow™ plus, which will offer users download, play and recommend unlimited amounts of music wherever they are and whenever they like. The service, PlayNow plus, will first be offered in Sweden with a global launch to follow next year, according to Sony Ericsson. The music service will cost 99 Swedish kronor (US$15) per month. Wireless operator Telenor will offer the service with a W902 Walkman phone for 2 year contract.
Christian Dior Launches Cell Phone
The high end French fashion brand Christian Dior has launched their own line of cell phones. The new phone comes with a new feature, a miniature version of the phone which can be clipped on the outside of a bag. The tiny phone, named “My Dior,” communicates with the regular handset. The phone will be available in pink, red, and white. The cellphones are priced from $5500 to $7900.
Disposable cell phone coming to Europe
Hop-on Inc’s new disposable cellphone HOP2001 is to be released on Europe soon. The GSM/CDMA Dual Mode PDA HOP2001 model features Wi-Fi support, Windows Mobile 6(R), built-in GPS for use with Telenav GPS Navigator(TM) and a sleek, lightweight design. The price of the phone will be around 14 Euros.

Braille Cellphone for the blind
This Cellphone uses six of the phone’s buttons to represent the six-point Japanese Braille system. Anyone who knows Braille, can keys in symbols which will be sent to other phones and will cause a connected keypad to vibrate, spelling out the words. Right now it may be impractical, in future it will be more helpful gadget for the blind. The device was created by an ex-teacher at a school for the blind and a professor from Tsukuba University of Technology,Japan.
Motorola to split
Motorola will split into two companies, one making mobile devices and the other making network infrastructure. Analysts agree the split will bring improved focus, especially for the mobile phone company. The split is expected to be take place in 2009.
Cellphone Use = Get Drunk
A study by Carnegie-Mellon University researchers shows that mobile phone use while driving reduces 37 percent of brain activity engaged in driving. This level of distraction could be as dangerous as being under the influence of alcohol. The findings also suggest that using a hands-free headset doesn’t make much of a difference.
Secret Ring tones for teens
A ring tone has been invented that enables teens to hear a secret ring tone, while hiding itself from the ears of adults. The technology,works based on the concept of presbycusis , a medical phenomenon which explains the hearing loss experiencing as humans age. As this condition grows, high frequencies become less audible. This leaves room for teens to hear what adults can’t- which makes the perfect silent ringtone. The new ring tone is called “Mosquito Ringtone” and hope to be the next big fad in the mobile industry.
