Today, Google announced this year’s U.S. “Doodle 4 Google”. The competition invites all K-12 students in the U.S. to design a Google logo inspired by the timely theme, “What I wish for the world”. The winning student’s doodle will be displayed on the Google homepage on May 21, 2009. The champion “doodler” will also receive a $15,000 college scholarship and a $25,000 technology grant for his/her school. This year’s competition also includes a $10,000 award to recognize the school district with the greatest quality participation.
A new NASA competition is challenging students in high school and college to research and describe a small, supersonic airliner that could enter commercial service in the next decade. Individuals and teams of high school students can enter the competition by submitting well-documented short papers describing what needs to be accomplished to make supersonic flight available to commercial passengers by 2020. The competition is sponsored by NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate. Only U.S. citizens are eligible to receive the awards.
Dell computer invites design students and individuals for the competition to create a broad range of design concepts and innovations for technology products that demonstrate refreshed approaches and responsible solutions for green computing technologies. The competition is open for anyone who is 18 years or older.
Its free to enter the competition and the deadline is April 2nd, 2008.
