Cyber attackers target South Korea and US

computer-spyingNorth Korean hackers are suspected of launching a cyber-attack on some of the most important government offices in the US and South Korea in recent days, including the White House, the Pentagon, the New York Stock Exchange and the presidential Blue House in Seoul. The attack took out some of South Korea’s most important websites, including those of the Blue House, the defence ministry, the national assembly, Shinhan bank, Korea Exchange bank and the top internet portal Naver. Cyber Bullying Affects One in 10 Students

computer-userBullying still makes life miserable for plenty of students, only these days some aggressors apparently operate electronically. A new study shows that many children in grades 6 through 10 have either bullied classmates or been bullied by them, sometimes online or through cell phones. According to the study, 20.8 percent of respondents reported being perpetrators or victims of physical bullying in the past two months; 53.6 percent were victims of verbal bullying; 51.4 percent were victims of relational bullying, which involves social exclusion, and 13.6 percent of cyber bullying on a computer, cell phone or other electronic device. Kyrgyzstan Knocked Offline

kyrgyzstanKyrgyzstan, a former Soviet republic came under  cyber attack by a”cyber militia.” The attack which originated from Russia virtually knocked the whole country offline. The attack has shut down Web sites and made emailing impossible. Less than 20% of the Kyrgyz population is online. Kyrgyzstan allows U.S., to use an air base in the country to help with its military operations in Afghanistan
