Network Solutions, domain registration and hosting service provider was found to be taking advantage of its customers by hijacking sub domains and profiting from them without the domain owners’ permission. This same company was sued over “domain front running “, a practice of locking up domain names as soon as a user searches for them, taking them off the market and forcing users to use their service to register the name they want.
Pizza.com sold for $2.6m
Domain name Pizza.com has been sold for $2.6m. Chris Clark registered the internet domain name ‘pizza.com’ in 1994 for just $20. He decided to sell it after hearing that another domain - Vodka.com - was sold for $3m in 2006
