Dalai Lama: Chinese Ruled Tibet a ‘Hell on Earth’

Tibet’s exiled spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, has accused China of killing hundreds of thousands of his people in his Himalayan homeland and turning the region into “hell on earth.” With the invasion of Tibet in 1950 and the subsequent Seventeen Point Agreement, the China asserted control over Tibet. During a rebellion against the Chinese occupation in 1956 tens of thousands of Tibetans were killed and the 14th Dalai Lama and other government principals fled to exile in India.

World opinion on Afghan war

A poll carried out by Gallup International in 37 countries found out that majority of the people opposed the war in Afghanistan. The poll also found that majorities in the US and Israel (both 56%) did not favor attacks on civilians. Even though the poll was conducted 6 years ago the results didn’t get much media attention.
