Al-Qaeda Accuses Iran of Cooperation with US

Ayman al-ZawahiriAyman al-Zawahiri, believed to be the second in command of Al-Qaeda has accused Iran of collaborating with Washington in Afghanistan and Iraq. Zawahiri claimed Tehran was “cooperating with the Americans in occupying Iraq and Afghanistan” and blamed Iran for recognizing the two democratic governments there. He also celebrated former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf’s resignation. But US recently condemned Iran for having secret contact with leadership of al Qaeda. Al-Qaeda has issued the video to mark the seventh anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

2100 year old City Wall Found in Jerusalem

wallIn Israel, archaeologists have discovered a 2,100-year-old Jerusalem wall along with beer bottles. These bottles were left behind by 19th century researchers who first discovered the stone defenses. The wall of Jerusalem dates back to the Second Jewish Temple. But it was destroyed in by the Romans in AD 70. According to archaeologists, the wall indicates that Jerusalem had expanded to the south, and it is the largest size in biblical times.

Iranians Take Science to deny Holocaust

Auschwitz Gas ChamperAn article published by an Iranian satellite channel Press TV on its Web site says, the massacre of Jewish people during the Holocaust was “scientifically impossible”. Iranian government setup the Press TV, an English-language 24-hour news channel. Nicholas Kollerstrom, who wrote this article, had his fellowship terminated by University College London last month after he said there were never any gas chambers at Auschwitz. According to Adolf Eichmann, a senior SS official about 6 million Jewish people were killed by Nazis, 50% of them in gas chambers.

Facebook,National Security Threat:Israel

Facebook Israeli security officials are not allowed anymore to publish confidential information on Facebook because it may become available to all the people who surf the Internet. A new list of rules announced by Defense Ministry on Israel aims to prevent soldiers and employees from revealing classified information on social networking sites. The officials say some soldiers have uploaded pictures of themselves with classified equipment, inadvertently revealing sensitive information.

Young American Jews still attached to Israel,Study

IsraelA study by the Steinhardt Social Research Institute at Brandeis University points that Jewish attachment to Israel has largely held steady for the period 1994-2007. The study showed that differences in attachment to Israel are likely related to life-cycle rather than the diverse experiences of successive generations. The number of American Jews visiting Israel also on the rise, according to this study.
