Voters Increasingly View McCain As Negative :POLL
An increasing number of voters see John McCain as running a negative campaign, CBS poll revealed. Sixty four percent of registered voters said McCain is spending more time attacking Obama, an increase from 61 percent just over a week ago. This poll was conducted among a random sample of 1152 adults nationwide.
Palin forced to apologise after blunder over ‘talks’ with British ambassador
In an answer to questions about her foreign policy experience US vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s aides listed talks with Britain’s ambassador to Washington, which never actually took place. British embassy officials contacted the McCain-Palin campaign to inform them of the discrepancy. She has been ridiculed for the few interviews she has granted, the most notable one is citing Alaska’s proximity to Canada and Russia as giving her foreign policy experience.
Letterman : McCain’s Last Minute Cancellation
John McCain canceled his scheduled appearance on the “The Late Show with David Letterman” since he need to get back to Washington to focus on fixing the economy. But instead of leaving to Washington he was at the CBS News headquarters for an interview with Katie Couric, while Letterman was interviewing Keith Olbermann who had filled in as a substitute guest for McCain. Letterman have always had a friendly rapport with McCain, evn calling him “an honest-to-God hero.”
McCain Invented the BlackBerry
“If John McCain hadn’t said that ‘the fundamentals of our economy are strong’ on the day of one of our nation’s worst financial crises, the claim that he invented the BlackBerry would have been the most preposterous thing said all week”, said Bill Burton, Barack Obama’s campaign spokesman,in response of the comment made by a top McCain policy adviser, Douglas Holtz-Eakin. Earlier McCain policy adviser told reporters “You’re looking at the miracle that John McCain helped create”, showing his blackberry. McCain has acknowledged that he doesn’t know how to use a computer and can’t send e-mail. BlackBerry maker Research In Motion is a Canadian company.
McCain ahead of Obama : POLL
Republican presidential candidate McCain took his first lead on Obama in the monthly Reuters/Zogby poll. Poll shows McCain has a 5 point lead. The poll was conducted among 1 089 votes over the phone. Most national polls have given Obama a narrow lead over McCain throughout the summer. In June Obama had a 5 point lead in the Reuters/Zogby poll. Obama still has a strong support among voters between the ages of 18 and 29. He won 52 percent support among young voters.
Obama gets more donation in Europe.
It seems like Obama is more popular than McCain in Europe. His campaign has raised roughly 10 times more money than the republican candidate. According to Federal election commission reports Obama’s campaign has raised at least $1 million from donors in Europe. In overall funding raising, Obama has raked in $338 million while McCain raised about $126.3 million. Does this huge disparity in fund raising mean something?
