Medical Bills Are Found Linked to Most Bankruptcies

Some 62% of all bankruptcies filed in 2007 were due in part to medical expenses, according to a new study. Even more striking: 78% of those individuals had insurance. Most people hit by such bankruptcies were considered middle-class, college-educated and owned homes, according to the study published online by the American Journal of Medicine. Medical marijuana requests climb sky high

The number of ailing people turning to medical marijuana to ease their symptoms has spiked this year, say dispensary owners in some of the 13 states where it’s legal. Requests have jumped anywhere from 50 to 300 percent, they say, since President Barack Obama took office and signaled that he won’t use federal marijuana laws to override state laws as the Bush administration did. How to get dust, an eyelash or other particles out of your eye without hurting yourself:

• First wash your hand before examining your eyes.
• To examine the eye in a mirror to locate the particle, look up, down and side to side
• avoid rubbing your eyes
• if you can’t see the particle, pull the lower lid and lift the upper lid as well
• Rinse the eye or eyelid with fresh water
• If any damage occurred seek immediate medical attention.
