Men’s judgments of women’s attractiveness were based primarily around physical features and they rated highly those who looked thin and seductive. Most of the men in the study also rated photographs of women who looked confident as more attractive. As a group, the women rating men showed some preference for thin, muscular subjects, but disagreed on how attractive many men in the study were. One in four men in South Africa admitted to raping someone and many confessed to attacking multiple victims, according to a new study conducted by the Medical Research Council and reported by the Mail and Guardian: Of those surveyed, 28% said they had raped a woman or girl, and 3% said they had raped a man or boy. Men are considered to be the best tippers by restaurant staff, according to a new study. Reported in the International Journal of Hospitality Management, the study examined surveys from 1189 servers in 49 states, and looked at whether servers’ had developed perceptions of their customers’ tipping habits. According to a survey by cosmopolitan.co.uk, 75% of young women think about shopping nearly as often as men think about sex. Young men are said to think about sex every 52 seconds, on the other hand thoughts of shopping pop into young women’s heads every 60 seconds. The survey conducted among 778 women aged 19 to 45. Half of those surveyed said they preferred shopping to spending time with their partner.
When it comes to a stressful situation, women and men act differently. Women have greater rates of depression and anxiety disorders while men have greater rates of alcohol-use disorders.
According to a new study, men tend to consume alcohol when they are stressed or upset. Women feel sad or anxious, which lead to depression and anxiety, and they also tend to think over and over again about their negative emotional state. But men are more likely to distract themselves from negative emotions, and try not to think about these emotions. This can lead to alcohol related disorders.
