New Study Shows Clothes Don’t Make The Professor

suitA new study, which surveyed four psychology classes at North Hennepin Community College in Minnesota, concluded that the clothing instructors wear has little effect on how students perceive them over longer periods of time. The study, was presented at the Association for Psychological Science and is in the process of being written. The data suggested that the type of clothing made a small difference in the instructor’s perceived approachability on the first day, but the clothing made no difference in the perception of the instructor after the four weeks. nokia-n97smartphoneA study released on Thursday shows US teens are using smart phones and the Internet to cheat at school work or exams. Slightly more than half of teens surveyed for a Common Sense Media poll admitted to using the Internet to cheat and more than a third of students with mobile telephones said they had used them to cheat. Irish student’s Wikipedia hoax dupes newspapers

wikipediaA WIKIPEDIA hoax by a 22-year-old Dublin student resulted in a fake quote being published in newspaper obituaries around the world. The quote was attributed to French composer Maurice Jarre who died at the end of March. It was posted on the online encyclopedia shortly after his death and later appeared in obituaries published in the Guardian, the London Independent, on the BBC Music Magazine website and in Indian and Australian newspapers. IBM Prepares Students for Jobs of the Future.

IBM is teaming up with Michigan Technological University to help students develop these skills. IBM has donated WebSphere software for this initiative with the agreement that any assets created through these programs will be made available to other universities around the world at no charge. Over the past five years, IBM has been working with more than 150 universities around the world to grow the adoption of Services Science, Management and Engineering (SSME).
