Men are considered to be the best tippers by restaurant staff, according to a new study. Reported in the International Journal of Hospitality Management, the study examined surveys from 1189 servers in 49 states, and looked at whether servers’ had developed perceptions of their customers’ tipping habits. Yesterday, Google created a site dubbed “Tip Jar,” which allows users to submit money-saving tips across a variety of categories, ranging from finance and travel to food and shopping. TipJar is a collection of money-saving tips submitted and ranked by the web community. Advice is divided in to several categories, including at home, at work, travel, shopping and family. TipJar is an example of generating ideas through “crowdsourcing”, said Google.

How to get dust, an eyelash or other particles out of your eye without hurting yourself:
- First wash your hand before examining your eyes.
- To examine the eye in a mirror to locate the particle, look up, down and side to side
- avoid rubbing your eyes
- if you can’t see the particle, pull the lower lid and lift the upper lid as well
- Rinse the eye or eyelid with fresh water
- If any damage occurred seek immediate medical attention.
