2 Million people to attend Obama inauguration

Barack Obama Even though 2 million people will show up to the event only 240000 official tickets were issued. Rest of them will be able to see the celebration on one of two dozen jumbo televisions placed along the Mall. Almost 2 million people have visited the inaugural.senate.gov Web site so far. At the same time, Israel plans to pull all of its troops out of the Gaza Strip by the time Obama is inaugurated. US to double forces in Afghan

AfghanistanUS Joint Chiefs of Staff announced Saturday that the number of US forces in Afghanistan will be doubled soon. There are presently approximately 31,000 US troops in the country. Overall, there are more than 60,000 foreign troops in Afghanistan. Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) is the official name used by the U.S. Government to the war in Afghanistan. 629 US soldiers have been killed in the operation since the war begun.
